What is Orphan Sponsorship?

Sponsoring an orphan is a means of raising long-term support for the child until they complete their high school education and can take care of themselves. They are in foster care or one of our Christian Care Centers.  It is also a rich and rewarding experience for the sponsors. We ask that you commit to at least one year of support when you sign up for this sponsorship program.

What Happens When You Sponsor an Orphan?

You agree to send in regular payments ($20 Foster Care and $35 Orphanage). Payments can be made quarterly or yearly if you prefer. Automatic bank drafts are also available where we take $20 or $35 out of your account on or about the 15th of each month. Your donations are tax deductible.   You will receive a photo and information sheet on the child assigned to you. It will give you details about the child you are supporting.

Each time the Christian worker visits your assigned orphan, you will receive an update to let you know what has been given to the child and how he/she is progressing at school and at home. Our workers will try to visit each child every other month. Your donation will purchase shoes, boots, umbrella, clothing, bedding, school bags, school supplies, daily necessities (toothpaste, shampoo, etc.) and medical care. The worker will pay the school directly for the tuition and lunch (rice) tickets. Many churches are donating quilts and blankets, which are shipped to China by FedEx free of charge. They will be distributed to the children along with the gifts purchased from your donations.

We encourage sponsors to establish a relationship with their orphan by writing letters and sending photographs. Write your letters in English and send them to with your check, to our office:

or e-mail them to patbrown5@charter.net . We forward them by e-mail to our workers, so we ask that you not use any religious terms as some e-mails are being censored by the government. Our Chinese workers will translate your letter and take both copies to the child on the next visit. Orphans are encouraged to write back to their sponsors. Our workers will translate their letter into English and send it to us by e-mail. The worker will forward the child’s letter as it is written, if he/she has learned enough English.
