Missions

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

What are PTC members doing about the Great Commission?

China
Mission: www.china-mission.org

Our very own Ron and Pat Brown head up this dynamic mission work. China Mission currently operates 4 orphanages. 2 more will be added next year. One will be just outside of Beijing , the capital city. China Mission takes care of over 600 children in orphanages and through foster care. The Peachtree City church of Christ sponsors more than any other congregation by far.

China Mission also conducted a cleft palate mission this year. Burn victims and heart patients are flown to the US for surgery with the assistance of three special PTC ladies: Aida, Judy, and Sherry.  100% of the parents of the open heart patients are baptized.

A Preacher Training School was established in 2002. The
Beijing church of Christ was established in 2008. The full time minister is David Langley. This is the first church of Christ in China legally registered and recognized by the Government.

To help members become more familiar with this good work, Peachtree City will hold a special event called China Day in October, 2010.

Pike County Church of Christ, Zebulon, GA

We helped establish this church in 2006. It is now an autonomous congregation with about 30 members meeting weekly. A group of PTC members take the church bus to Zebulon to worship with them once a quarter.  Bo and the youth helped them with a door knocking campaign to get started and continue to conduct an annual summer VBS. PTC provides partial support of the preacher's salary. Pike County Day is planned for the evening of Sept 26, 2010. We will hold a joint worship service in PTC and a fellowship meal will follow.

Nicaragua
- Pedro Morales heads up this exciting mission work. A Preacher Training School was established 17 yrs ago. The school has approximately 80-100 students each year and graduates 20-30 per year.  We are helping them build a new schoolConstruction starts early 2010 thanks to Peachtree City!

Under Pedro's training and supervision, these preachers and church members are baptizing hundreds!  Their congregation alone baptized 75 so far this year.  As a result of their Bible correspondence course, over 1200 Nicaraguans were baptized in 2009 so far.

Kyle Butt – Apologetics Press

This is a new mission we are adding in 2010.  Kyle is doing a much needed work in the area of Christian Evidences.

Richard and Mary Harp - Scotland

Richard is the son of our good friend, Scott Harp. Richard and Mary will leave for Scotland next summer. They will be ministering to the youth of Scotland in a well-established congregation.  They will run a Youth Club similar to a YMCA facility.  We hope to take our youth group sometime in the future to work with them.

Freed-Hardeman University Scholarship Fund

Last but not least, PTC supports preacher training by contributing annually to a scholarship fund for preaching students in the graduate Bible program at FHU.
