We have a busy summer that is about to kickoff for the youth group at Peachtree City. The motive behind everything that is put on the calendar is growth. The different events and activities will challenge your teen to develop in different areas of their lives. They will grow closer to other Christians and build relationships that give them joy in good times and help them push through in the bad. Some of the things we do will challenge them to step out of their comfort zone to help others while other events will be focused on their own spiritual growth. The question is, will they grow?If you do not make these things a priority, neither will your kids. I'm not oblivious to how short and busy your summers are before you even put any of the youth activities down. When you are extremely busy it means you have to make choices. I want to ask you to sit down with your children and evaluate the things they will do this summer. Figure out which ones will truly challenge them and allow them to thrive. Over the next few weeks I will be highlighting different events and why it is important for your teen to be a part of them. Understand that this calendar is not thrown together to fill time and entertain but to give your teens OPPORTUNITIES to grow. Remember that opportunities are pointless if they are not taken advantage of. Make the choice that this will be the best summer ever.
