Support for your children. It is important to realize the purpose of a youth ministry. The responsibility for the growth of the child spiritually lies on the parents. They will be set up with numerous opportunities for growth while they are in the youth group. Being involved has to be stressed as a priority in the home.
Work is what it will take to make this youth program a success. This growth will not come without putting in the work. Work on developing the mindset of a servant through group and individual service activities. Work on becoming mission minded through mission trips and individual outreach to your friends. Work on your personal growth through daily Bible study and prayer.
Always put God first. Being a Christian always is one of the biggest challenges that is faced by teenagers. It is easier to be a Christian when you are constantly surrounded by other Christians. We know that our teenagers are not surrounded by others who put Christ first constantly. Through the youth group they can gain the confidence, faith, and leadership skills to always be a Christian by truly understanding the big picture.
Growth will happen! Our goal as a youth group is growth. When you combine the support from the home with participation in the plan, spiritual growth will be inevitable. With spiritual growth will come our second goal of numerical growth. As the commitment to grow personally grows, so will the commitment to reach out to friends and family members.
